2027: Group seeks Nigerians’ support for Tinubu’s second term

A group, Partners Assured for Tinubu (PAT), a pan-Nigerian solidarity movement built on loyalty, shared history, and a collective commitment to national transformation, has called on Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s second term, saying he (Tinubu) has taken critical and tough decisions that have repositioned the country and set it on the path of economic recovery.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja, the chairman of PAT, Usman Saleh Hassan, said the group would be launched on Thursday at the Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, with the theme “Consolidating the Renewed Hope Agenda: A Strategic Partnership for National Progress” and with the primary objective to serve as a critical pillar of support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, mobilise robust grassroots backing, and facilitate open dialogue between the government and the citizenry.

He said, “This group is a support group for the President, and we intend to launch the group on 20th November, 2025, at the Merit House. This launch signals the beginning of a more coordinated, inclusive, and people-centered support system that will help translate the Renewed Hope Agenda into tangible progress for all.

“It’s a support group that is born out of the need to support the President. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done so much that he deserves our support. When you have a president who makes critical decisions, all he deserves from the masses or from us Nigerians is support. As I’ve said, it’s a support group for the president come the 2027 general elections.”

“One thing I want to tell us is that leadership is hard, and good leadership is even harder. But when you have a president who is ready to take tough decisions, I think all he deserves is sacrifice and support. When we sacrifice, we’ll definitely see the results. But the intention of the president and the policy direction of the president show that he means well for this nation. And that is one of the reasons why we come together to support the President come 2027. Our members are in the 36 states, including the FCT, with over 2 million members.

“Our members are those who vote with PVCs. So come 2027, the president should start counting his votes from 2 million upward. PAT is giving the President 2 million votes. Our responsibility at PAT is to serve as a dependable link between the people and the government. We are determined to amplify the successes of ongoing reforms, correct misconceptions, and empower Nigerians with accurate information,” Hassan added.

Also, the national secretary, Najeeb Babalikita, while speaking, said the inauguration of the group will mark a decisive moment in rallying patriotic Nigerians behind a vision that prioritises stability, development, and inclusive progress.

The group also mentioned some of the achievements of the Tinubu administration, including the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) with over 600,000 beneficiaries, the conditional cash transfer scheme with over 71 million beneficiaries getting ₦25,000, ₦50,000, or ₦70,000 monthly, and the implementation of the Technical and Vocational Educational Training (TVET) program for graduates, with over 250,000 beneficiaries already enrolled.

Other members of the group at the briefing are the director of strategic communication, Charles Akanji; the vice chairman, Dr. Yahaya Abdullahi; and the director of media and communication, Femi Oyelade.
