Women stakeholders in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) across the 16 local government areas of Ekiti state have endorsed the 2022 governorship ambition of the former governor, Chief Segun Oni.
The women who converged in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital are mostly former political office holders and present party officers of PDP at all levels. They described Oni as the most suitably qualified and competent candidate for the opposition party ahead of the next year’s election.
They promised to mobilize all women delegates in the 177 wards to ensure victory for the former governor and called on the National Working Committee of the party to ensure transparent and fair primaries next year.

Speaking while playing host to the women, the coordinator of Ekiti PDP Progressives, Honourable Wale Ayeni commended them for their decision to identify with his principal, urging to take the message to other delegates in the state.
The chairman of the occasion, Rotimi Omoboriowo while commending the women for their decision, noted that with the vast experience of Oni being a former governor, the state would achieve more greatness again under him.
The secretary of Segun Oni political organisation, Dr Dare Ojo who was at the event commended the group for their various initiatives and continuous support for the former governor.
Other highlights of the event was the declaration of Ekiti emancipation women for PDP progressives led by Mrs Nike Adedayo, the state coordinator of the group and the Secretary Mrs Yetunde Osatunberu.
