The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress Youth League has lauded the election of Hon Akeem Balogun as the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, adding that his emergence will bring more youths into governance.
Coordinator of the League, Comrade Olamide Lawal who stated this while reacting to the outcome of the election described the process of the election on the floor of the House as peaceful and exemplary.
Lawal, according to a statement issued by the Publicity Secretary of the group, Adewale Adeleye, said Hon Balogun is a lover of youths and a grassroots party-man.
“His support for our Ogun Waterside Local government chapter is immeasurable.
“The coming of Hon Balogun as Deputy Speaker is a further demonstration of the kind of all inclusive-spirit that exist in the state, presently,” he explained.
The coordinator maintained that Hon Balogun’s kind-heartedness and his will to always have impacts on humanity has brought him this “well-deserved honour.”
He enjoined the new Deputy Speaker to synergize with the Speaker, Hon Olakunle Oluomo in further ensuring a robust legislative arm of government in the state.
“While we pray for Hon Balogun’s success in office, we assure him of the cooperation of the over 20,000 members of the APC Youth League in the Gateway State,” he assured.
