The Executive Chairman of the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board, Professor Nasir Garba Anka, has been celebrated with thirty (30) pupils who were successful in the recently concluded national gifted examination.
In a statement issued on Thursday by ZSUBEB public relations officer Ibrahim Musa Maizare, the successful pupils were hosted to a reception by the chairman with their parents, teachers, and coordinators at his office in the state.
During the reception, the ZSUBEB Chairman expressed his appreciation for their achievement and added that the executive governor considers education a top priority alongside security.
Prof. Anka urged the students to be good ambassadors of the state, with dignity and good manners wherever they found themselves.
He assured the students that the state government, under the leadership of Governor Dauda Lawal, would provide all necessary support to further their education.
He further encouraged parents to allow their children, especially girls, who make up the majority, to seize this opportunity as the government is working to improve the standard of education in the state.
Prof. Anka commended the efforts of the teachers and coordinators for their support and commitment, which led to the pupils’ success.
Earlier on, the State Coordinator, late Emir Kabir Dan Baba Women and Youth Centre Gusau, Arch Abubakar Abdu Gusau, said they were at the Chairman’s office to present the successful candidates to him for his blessings.
The coordinator applauded the present administration for the historic achievements, support, and encouragement provided to the students in the state.
Arch. AA Gusau emphasised that education is the responsibility of all, not just the government, and encouraged everyone to contribute their quarter for the development of society in the state.
“We call on wealthy individuals and stakeholders to support the government, highlighting the importance of unity for the progress of Zamfara State.
“We praise philanthropist Alhaji Sambo Garba Sardaunan Gusau for his support and urge other people to emulate him,” he urged.
