The programme tagged ‘Get Skill and Be Independent’ was recently held at the multipurpose hall of the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos.
According to the organisers, the grand finale of the training which will hold in a week’s time, will also feature different skill acquisition programme.
The convener, Peju Oke, a Canada-based Nigerian, said the vision of the initiative was to provide sustainable education, allowing individuals to reach their untapped potential and incite economic growth by becoming the next leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs in the country.
She also noted that training was part of her quest to give back to the society, just as she expressed her delight over the endorsement of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi amongst other eminent Nigerians over the initiative.
“The programme is to prepare and equip the youths with appropriate skills that can be beneficial to them in future. It is also capable of ensuring value re-orientation among the youths and transforming them into creators of wealth and employment instead or seekers,” she added.
