VOICE of Nigeria (VON), Nigeria’s external broadcast service, on Thursday in Abuja, promised to project activities of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), to its global audience.
Mr Osita Okechukwu, Director General of VON, made the promise when PAP’s Coordinator and Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, retired Brig-Gen Paul Boroh, visited him.
The DG commended Boroh`s effort at ensuring peace in the region.
“Personally, I am impressed with what you and the Vice President are doing, especially with regards to building modular refineries in the region“, he said.
He said the region was in need of infrastructure such as coastal railway and good road network to facilitate the movement of goods and services.
He assured that VON would partner with the office to publicise its activities to the international community.
Boroh, who said his office was working hard to ensure that peace and stability prevailed in the Niger Delta, solicited strategic communication partnership with VON.
“We need our efforts and everything we are doing to be reported and projected to the world. Such will also improve our global image”, he said.
NAN reports that PAP is harmonising its partnerships with strategic development ministries and government agencies toward fast-tracking the reintegration of reformed former agitators into civil life.
