The United States Embassy in Nigeria has said that its Abuja office and Consulate General Lagos office are open for all consular business, including visa interviews.
The U.S. Embassy in a Facebook post disclosed this in clarifying information regarding the embassy closure, as it admonished visa applicants not to miss their appointments.
However, the U.S. embassy said: “Due to the current US government shutdown, the American Center located in the Embassy, Abuja and Consulate General, Lagos are unfortunately closed.”
The post reads: “U.S. Embassy Abuja and Consulate General Lagos remain open for for all consular business, including visa interviews. Please attend your regularly scheduled interview.
“Due to the current U.S. government shutdown, the American Centers located in the Embassy, Abuja and Consulate General, Lagos are unfortunately closed. They will re-open once the U.S. government shutdown is resolved. Sorry for any inconvenience to our valued patrons.
