Immediate past special adviser on transport to Delta State governor, Olorogun Jaro Movudu-Egbo, has officially declared his intention to run for the Ughelli North chairmanship seat in the forthcoming July 13th local government election.
He made the declaration on Sunday before Ughelli North party leaders, elders and all stakeholders.
The decision came in shortly after the unanimous endorsement of Movudu-Egbo as the party’s flagbearer in Ughelli North by all party leaders and stakeholders of the party including Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
The ceremony took place at the residence of the chairman, Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Chief Samuel Mariere, at Evwreni. They ceremony also had in attendance former chairmanship aspirants.
While addressing party leaders, elders, stakeholders and former aspirants, Egbo described his emergence as “divine mandate” as he never dreamt of contesting for the Ughelli North chairmanship seat, adding that God turn everything around for him and he can’t say no.
He assured the party leaders and stakeholders of his unflinching loyalty to the party even as he plans to run an all-inclusive government which will center on bottom-top approach where the interest of the masses will be topmost priority as he is only here to serve humanity and bring meaningful development to the local government.
Egbo further promised to deliver on effective representation, empowerment, peace and security to the people, while achieving a cleaner Ughelli North in line with the state government’s MORE AGENDA.
The high-point of the ceremony was the passing of a vote of confidence on Governor Oborevwori by all that were present.
