In a resounding celebration of innovation, impact, and leadership in Nigeria’s ever-evolving tech landscape, the 10th edition of the Nigeria Technology Awards (NiTA) spotlighted the brightest minds and trailblazers shaping the future of digital transformation across sectors.
Established to recognise, celebrate, and reward excellence in the Nigerian technology space, the Nigeria Technology Awards (NiTA) has, over the past decade, become one of the country’s most respected platforms for honouring individuals and organisations driving innovation and digital growth. It provides an opportunity to acknowledge tech leaders who are not only making significant impacts locally but also elevating Nigeria’s standing in the global technology ecosystem.
The award ceremony was held on the 8th of December at the Admiralty Conference Centre, Naval Dockyard, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The award serves as a benchmark for excellence across areas such as software development, artificial intelligence, digital marketing, telecoms, public sector modernisation, and more, encouraging healthy competition, visionary thinking, and industry advancement.
Held with grandeur and industry-wide participation, this year’s edition honoured a rich array of tech professionals, founders, executives, and public servants whose innovations and dedication have made significant strides in both private enterprise and public service.
Here are the notable winners of the 2024 Nigeria Technology Awards and their contributions:
- Jude Ighomena, Snr. Manager, Core Network Operations at Broadbased Communications Limited, was named Most Promising Tech Young Person of the Year for his pivotal role in strengthening Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and setting new standards in network reliability.
- Kunle Akinniran, MD/CEO of Vatebra Limited, received the prestigious Tech Company CEO of the Year award, credited for leading Vatebra to new heights in software innovation and client-centric solutions.
- Mike Aigbe, Deputy MD/CEO of Vatebra, was celebrated as Tech Personality of the Year (Executive Leadership) for his strategic direction and exemplary leadership in tech project delivery and institutional development.
- DCG KI Adeola, Deputy Comptroller-General (ICT-Modernization) of the Nigeria Customs Service, clinched Tech Personality of the Year (Federal Agency ─ Public Service) for spearheading the digital transformation within the nation’s customs and trade facilitation operations.
- Charles Ayere, CTO of AI MarketGenie LLC, received accolades as Emerging AI & ML Innovator of the Year for developing innovative AI solutions that are reshaping marketing intelligence and driving automation for African businesses.
- Precious Adesina-Ola, Head of Growth at Suplias Technologies, emerged as Tech Product Sales & Growth Personality of the Year, in recognition of her groundbreaking contributions to product expansion and digital retail penetration across the continent.
- Temitope Godwin Orilua, Founder and CMO of Digital Business Nigeria, received the Emerging Tech Entrepreneur of the Year award for his visionary efforts in digital marketing and online business growth platforms.
- Oke Umurhohwo, Head of Marketing at Zap Africa, was honoured as the Most Enterprising Tech Marketing Personality of the Year for his creativity in driving user engagement and branding in the fintech ecosystem.
- Rex Mafiana, MD/CEO of FPG Technologies & Solutions Ltd, was named Most Exceptional Tech Personality of the Year for his continued excellence in enterprise technology solutions and cybersecurity leadership.
- Adewale Adeyipo, Group MD/CEO of CWG PLC, took home Core Banking Software Development Company CEO of the Year, a nod to his leadership in providing robust tech infrastructure for financial institutions.
- Godfrey Inyama, a Machine Learning Researcher at Argtech Ltd, was honoured as Tech Machine Learning Personality of the Year for his groundbreaking work in predictive AI and machine learning innovations.
- Dr. Adebola Ismail Akindele, GMD of Courteville Business Solutions, was celebrated as Most Distinguished Tech Personality of the Year, reflecting a lifetime of leadership and transformation in Nigeria’s tech service delivery.
- Luther Kington Nwobodo, Founder of Zeugnis International Limited, was recognised as the Most Exceptional Data Analytics Professional of the Year
- Oghoghozino Otefia, MD/CEO of Aggital Works, received recognition as the Most Innovative Web Development Company CEO of the Year, for his work in pushing web innovation in Nigeria’s digital space.
