Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have neutralised three suspected kidnappers and rescued two victims in Koma Hills in Jada local government area of the State.
A statement by the spokesperson of the Command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje made available to Nigeria Tribune in Yola, said that the officers attached to Crack Squad in a joint operation with Hunters of Tapital Pulaaku Association recorded the success.
“The operation was carried out on the 24th of January, 2024, aimed at disconnecting the criminal network at Koma hill, connecting part of Kojoli and Karlahi Districts of Jada and Fufore LGAs respectively.
“The security strategy designed by the command to checkmate crime bordering kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling, unlawful possession of firearms, amongst others is paying off,” the PPRO said.
The men of the command have also recovered Pump Action, Single Barrel Guns, and locally fabricated revolver guns, handsets, chains, mats, charms amongst other items from the suspects.

“The outcome of these successes followed a security strategy designed by the command to checkmate crime bordering kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling, unlawful possession of firearms, amongst others.
“The suspected kidnappers on the 24th January 2024, stormed a cattle range of one Alhaji Jibo Karlahi and whisked away Umar Jibo, 18 years and Idi Hassan, 13years to their hideout,” Nguroje explained.
He said following a report at the police station, the command mobilised the rescue team who went after the kidnappers, according to the PPRO “on sighting their men, the suspects engaged them in a gun duel as a result 3 of them were neutralised, others escaped with bullet wounds”.
The newly promoted Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, now AIG, while commending the team, urged them to sustain the tempo as a strategy to checkmating crime in the state.
The Police boss assured the government and good people of Adamawa state of sustained effort to dislodge all criminal hideouts and black spots in the state.
