FORMER Nigerian leaders whose wives, aides and associates became conduit pipes for corruption have returned to prominence and have taken positions, ready to “charge” the treasury again. If Mrs Alison-Madueke, the former Petroleum Minister returns to Nigeria today, you can bet, serial rapists of Nigeria’s treasury will be given the red carpet treatment.
In Nigeria, stealing is the ‘best’ policy. With stolen wealth, you can buy your way into prominence over and over agian. One of them is shouting at the top of his voice that “his people want him to go for the presidency.” The fuel for 2023 Armageddon is being refined for the expected fireworks.
Bandits, kidnappers, Boko Haram will just be of the real conflict that would decide the fate of Nigeria. It will be self-deluding for anyone to believe otherwise.
