Tambuwal inaugurates 5 man committee on Ease of Doing Business

As the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) kicks off in many States of the federations, Sokoto State has join the wagon by constituting a 5 Man Committee on the Federal Government efforts to boost small scales businesses in the country.

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal represented by his deputy Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan’iya inaugurated the Sokoto State Committee on Ease of Doing Business as directed by Federal government via National Economic Council recommendations.

This is according to a press statement signed by the Director of press to Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdullahi Abubakar, and released to journalists on Thursday.

Governor Tambuwal said the choosing of the committee members is very strategic to the success and full implementation of the FG’s drive to promote small businesses to the promised land.

Members include Hon. Commissioner of Justice & Attorney General Member , Hon. Commissioner of Budget & Economic Planning,

Hon. Commissioner of Finance, Hon. Commissioner of Lands and Housing, While Hon. Commissioner of Commerce and Industries is to serve as the Secretary and State reform Champion.

Governor Tambuwal said the terms and reference of the Standing committee “is expected to meet Monthly and report to the State Executive Council the Highest Decision making body in the state” on a quarterly basis. As he will personally Chair the Meetings.

He said as the world embraces Entrepreneurship, the concept to ease doing business will in a long way uplift those small and medium businesses who are booming in the country.

Tambuwal said since the inception of this administration, priority has been given to small and medium businesses thats why Sokoto State Government curved out Sokoto State Medium and small enterprises development agency SOSMEDA from Ministry of Commerce to give Attention and assist those small businesses to grow in the State.

“That’s why Days back Sokoto State Government inject 4 Billion Naira Grants to 200,000 Rural beneficiaries to start small businesses all in support of FG drive in Creating Small Bussiness”

He however use the opportunity to congratulate Members of the Committee and urged them to justify the confidence reposed In them, in the discharge of there assignment.
