A former chairman of Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State, Alhaji Abideen Salami, has admonished members of the Muslim Ummah to sustain the virtues of the just concluded Ramadan fast in their daily activities.
Alhaji Salami, who made the appeal in Ibadan in a chat with newsmen, said: “It is important that we continue to live a life of piety as done during the fasting period. We should continue to embrace the virtues of godliness, perseverance, steadfastness and honesty and always do the right deeds in the society.
“We should be our brother’s keeper by reaching out to the needy and showing love to our neighbours.”
Salami quoted the Chief Imam of Olomi Community Central Mosque, Alhaji Mudasiru Sulaimon Otiko, as urging Muslims, in his sermon at the Olomi/Olunde Eid praying ground, not to return to sins after Ramadan fast so as to reap maximum reward for the act of religious observance.
The former council chairman congratulated Mr Seyi Makinde on his assumption of office as the Oyo State helmsman and solicited for the support of all the inhabitants of Oluyole Local Government Area for the governor.
