The lingering problem of LAUTECH is basically economic. But to a large extent, it has political undertones.
The political issue came up at the inception of the government of APC in Osun and Oyo states.
The idea of proposing a technical university for Oyo is, to say the least, a misplaced prioty at this time of recession.
Osun is battling with the salary arrears of workers and already has its own university, which is why it may not be interested in the co-ownership again, hence it has refused to pay its quota of the wages.
Oyo should be prepared to take up the responsibility of LAUTECH and make it its own state university in case Osun withdraws so that the people of Ogbomoso will not be short changed.
