The candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, is maintaining a slim lead in the ongoing collation of governorship rerun election results in Sokoto State.
Tambuwal, who is also the incumbent governor of the State is contesting against his former deputy and the candidate of APC, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto.
According to the results declared so far in 21 of the 22 local government where the rerun is taking place in the state which only excludes Tangaza Local Government area, the candidate of the PDP has so far polled 16, 987 while APC has so far polled 18,342 which makes the PDP candidates to be leading with a slim margin of 2,058 votes.
Meanwhile, the chief returning Officer, Professor Fatima B. Mukhtar, had adjourned the collation of the last local governments, Kebbe local government till 9:00 am today.
She disclosed that based on the intelligent report, the results of Kebbe won’t be in Sokoto until the next three hours due to the terrain of the road.
