I read somewhere that rice has a very high sugar content equal to that of sugar. It is therefore believed that eating rice is almost the same as eating sugar. Kindly let me know how true this is.

Whereas, 100 grams of white sugar has 100 grams of carbohydrates, 100 grams of cooked rice has only 30 grams of carbohydrates. Therefore, rice still has a very low carbohydrate compared to sugar. In addition, the same quantity of rice also has 5 grams of protein, and a trace amount of fats, dietary fiber, and other minerals. Therefore, eating rice is not equivalent to eating sugar.
