There was an impressive turnout of women in the Sokoto state re-run election for the two house of representatives and three state assemblies election.
Our correspondent who monitored the election in the state confirmed that despite the voting apathy witnessed in most polling units in the state, most women in the city turned out for the election.
A voter, Aisha Umar, who spoke with our correspondent commended INEC as well as the security agencies for putting adequate arrangements for the election.
She blames the apathy witnessed in the state as a result of lack of confidence in the electoral umpire in the country.

According to him, “the recent actions of INEC is not that impressive and this is affecting the confidence of the people in the electoral umpire.
“I hope with this election, the commission can redeem its image and give us a good result in accordance with the votes of the people.
“I prayed the security agencies will maintain the tempo during and after the conduct of this election” she added.
Some of the places visited by our correspondent include, Sahara, Kalfu, Lafia, Tundun Wada, Sokoto Cinema, Emir Yahya among others.
