Faboyede who stated this at the end of the inaugural meeting of the party in the state after the judgement of the Supreme Court on the leadership tussle in the party, said the party was open to reconciliation that would strengthen the party in the state.
“This is our first meeting of the born again PDP meeting after the judgement and the attendance is encouraging and involved all cadres of party leaders from wards level to state level.
He urged the aggrieved members to see the Supreme Court judgement as no victor, no vanquished saying “I want to appeal to all aggrieved members to please come back home.”
He urged those who left the part and willing to come back into the PDP fold to do so without any fear, assuring them that ” there will be no punishment, they should just return as a loyal member of the party, no punishment at all.
He said “i want to appeal to all other members of PDP that are still aggrieve to please come back home and let’s work together again. There is nothing we would gain from quarrelling.
“The umbrella is big enough to accommodate everybody and the PDP is a party rule by constitution, more of constitution than transition and we are happy that the crisis in the party is settled now.”
He said further “it is our duty in the party to accommodate everybody as there are no victor no vanquish and I want to appeal to all of them that we don’t solve problem by creating another problem and they should have genuine mind of reconciliation and come back home and not coming with a mind to further scatter the party because this will affect the party in facing future elections because Nigeria must be saved.”
Speaking on the decision of the party in the state, he disclosed that members of the party have resolved to chart a way forward through genuine reconciliation to reposition the party.
Faboyede said “we have been able to chart a new way forward for our party, genuine discipline and reconciliation that was topmost in our agenda and repositioning the party to be able to serve the good people of Ondo state better. That is what we have achieve today.
“We charted a way forward and part of it is that we are preparing to go for out ward Congresses to elect our ward delegates on August 8 and from there we will elect our local government delegates on August 10 before we move to Abuja for the non-elective convention
“We also agreed in this meeting today that we are returning our party to the grass root. So the party is back to the people as stated in our constitution so there is no godfatherism any longer”
According to him genuine reconciliation does not mean taking what belongs to other people but said it must be based on equity, equality and value, assuring that the party will soon bounce back in the state to over its rightful place.
