The group, which described as malicious and mischievous, calls by some group of persons for the resignation of Buhari, said those behind the demand, did not appreciate the collective responsibility of preserving the integrity of the country.
In a statement released in Abuja and signed by its Secretary General, I.A Waiya, the walk, it said, would commence from the Unity Fountain to the Presidential Villa for the presentation of a position paper on behalf of the participating organisations to the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo.
The group said the time was ripe for the good people of Nigeria to “determine the political definition and direction of this country, not the miscreants and cheap political merchants.”
“Sequel to the recent and unfortunate unfolding political happenings in Nigeria, with the central issue of the news peddled on the medical vacation of the President Muhammadu Buhari, an act which is maliciously and mischievously being promoted by some unpatriotic and unguided people, who do not appreciate the collective responsibility of preserving the integrity of the Nigerian state.”
