It was a fun filled fellowship for Ibadan media practitioners as Primus Media City hosted another edition of ‘The Media Nite’, a gathering designed for media practitioners to meet, network and deliberate in the spirit of unity. The event took place on Saturday, March 26 at Mauve Lounge, Ring Road, Ibadan, Oyo state.
The March edition of ‘The Media Nite’ was more elaborate, as the gathering honoured and celebrated an iconic Yoruba newscaster/presenter, Dr. Adebayo Faleke well known as “Bayo oo” of Fresh 105.9 FM, Ibadan, Oyo State. There was also an extensive intellectual discussion among the media practitioners and the entertainment stakeholders present on the topic, “Radio Boom: How it can positively affect entertainment in Ibadan.”
The event was also a perfect occasion to debut the musical contest tagged, ‘Ibadan Next Superstars’. The contest was keenly contested and won by an up and coming artiste, Kingsley Adeyi James, with stage name, Kingsmidow after electrifying performance by the final five contestants. The crown was contested by AmazingLonki, Kingsmidow, Ijoba Eleniyan, Laykon Enibah and Balo-Z. The eventual winner was jointly determined by everyone present including the stakeholders in the entertainment industry of the city.
By winning, Kingsmidow will enjoy massive media support and promotion on over 20 radio stations, blogs, newspapers and magazines which is estimated to be worth over N1,000,000 naira in his music career for the next three months.
