THE Ogun State Police Command has vowed to bring to justice people suspected to be militants that attacked Kereko-Ogijo community in Sagamu Local Government Area of the state, on Friday night.
Three people according to Police were killed by the militants who invaded the riverine community with sophisticated weapons.
In a statement issued by the Command’s image maker, Muyiwa Adejobi, made available to the Tribune Online had it the militants suspected to also be kidnappers stormed the community because the Police in the area attacked some of their members.
Adejobi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said a little girl identified as Mariam Buhari was hit by the bullet of the militants while her father, Waheed Buhari and two other people whose identities were unknown were unlucky.
He said his command is collaborating with the Lagos command and other security agencies to arrest those behind the dastardly act.
“We have strong feeling that they are suspected militants who are as well kidnappers who were angry because of the police attack on some of their colleagues.
“We are working with the Lagos State Command and other security agencies to tackle that soon. We know how to go about it,” the PPRO added.
Tribune Online recalled that two hotels were vandalised while residents were reported to have been dispossessed of their properties.
