Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have rescued fourteen abducted victims, neutralising the kidnapper in the process.
In a statement issued to newsmen in Abuja, on Thursday, by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), PPRO, SP Josephine Adeh, quoted the FCT Police Commissioner, Haruna Garba, as saying this:
“Police operatives of the Command attached to the anti-kidnapping unit and the Rubochi Division Police Headquarters in the continued fight against kidnapping in FCT, rescued 14 kidnapped victims on 24/01/2024 at about 0530 hrs.
“The combined team, acting on credible intelligence stormed a Kidnapper’s den located at Ukya village via Nasarawa state bordering FCT, on sighting the police operatives, the hoodlums engaged the open fire on the police operatives which resulted in a gun duel, the police operatives neutralised one of the kidnappers as the rest scampered to a nearby forest with various degrees of bullet wounds.
“The hostages who were rescued unhurt have since been reunited with their loved ones.”
