Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Delta State Police Command have foiled a kidnap attempt and rescued the victim in Delta.
This was revealed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, saying “operatives at Oghara Police Division had, on Thursday, August 17, at about 8:35p.m, got a tip-off that some suspected kidnappers were sighted in a white Benz GLK with reg. No ABC-448-HC around the Ogharake community.
“The DPO Oghara led a team of the Command’s Anti-cult Unit alongside the Divisional Patrol Team to the area with the support of community youths and local vigilantes.
“The efforts of the team embarked on a serious patrol of the area until about 9:50p.m, paid off when the policemen sighted the said vehicle already abandoned by the hoodlums.
“Upon search of the vehicle, the kidnapped victim was rescued and 20 rounds of 7.62 AK-47 live ammunition were recovered.
“Investigation revealed that the victim was kidnapped in Sapele at the entrance of his apartment on the same date at about 1900 hours.
“The victim has since been reunited with his family while a manhunt for the fleeing suspects is ongoing,” Edafe, noted.
He quoted the Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass, as commending the efforts of the DPO and his men, while assuring the public of the Command’s continued proactiveness and intelligence-led operation in flushing out criminals from the state.
