Alli, in the statement, enjoined all and sundry in the state to utilize the occasion to pray for the peace and unity in the state, and the country at large.
He emphasized that the beginning of the New Year in the Islamic calendar was another opportunity for Muslims worldwide to reflect on their past and work towards a new way of life.
Furthermore, he enjoined Muslims to exhibit good character towards their neighbours, adding that this was a major way in which God answers prayers.
