A political support group, BAO Grassroots Support for President Bola Tinubu, has said Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s achievements are enough for him to win a second term in office to consolidate an all-round development of the state.

The group said Oyebanji’s strides in agriculture, health and infrastructure have changed the face of the state and positively rubs off on its economy and standard of living of its people.

In a statement by its State Coordinator, Prince Tunji Ogunlola and Director of Publicity, Odunayo Ogunmola, the BAO Grassroots Support for President Bola Tinubu also expressed delight with the impact of the working visit of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

The group said the visit has yielded immediate gains with the commissioning of a N1 billion ICT Experience Centre, N500 million endowment at Ekiti State University (EKSU) and disbursement of N100 million to 2,000 petty traders to boost their trade amounting to N100 million.

The group commended the President for seeing Ekiti as a priority state earmarked for development which informed his unending support for the Oyebanji administration in making the dream become a reality.

It expressed delight with the official inauguration of the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Flyover and the groundbreaking of Ekiti Knowledge Zone by Vice President Kashim Shettima, noting that the flyover would help ease traffic bottlenecks in the state capital and shorten journeys within and outside the state capital.

The group said the visits by the First Lady and the Vice President in less than two weeks to commission projects and lay foundation stones for new ones have proved that Oyebanji is a performing governor who deserves to be re-elected in the fast-approaching governorship poll.

The Knowledge Zone, the group added, will generate 20,000 jobs by the time its first phase is completed in line with the local content policy of the Oyebanji administration while the entire phase is to generate about 100,000 jobs in areas like research, science, technology, industry and educational development.

While hailing Oyebanji’s massive investment in agriculture, BAO Grassroots Support group said the sector has provided direct and indirect employment for thousands of people, especially young school leaders.

It added that clusters of farm settlements located in some parts of the state have become centres of positive youth engagement in commercial farming and reclamation of swathes of land for useful purposes rather than hideouts for criminal elements.

The statement read in part,”Governor Oyebanji’s achievements in agriculture, health and infrastructure are enough to earn him a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“This was made possible by his collaboration with the federal government which is also controlled by the APC which has enabled Ekiti to reap a lot of gains and dividends for its people.

“The last visit of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is a typical example of the gains Ekiti is making from the Tinubu administration and belonging to a party that rules the state and the country. June 20 governorship election is an opportunity to sustain the benefits.”
