Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) on Operation Hakorin Damisa IV have arrested 34 suspected criminals, including seven kidnappers, within the space of one week at its operation areas in Plateau, parts of Kaduna, and Bauchi States.
The OPSH, in a statement signed by its Media Information Officer, Captain Oya James, pointed out that the suspects were apprehended in connection with kidnapping, criminal attacks, cattle rustling, gunrunning, farm destruction, theft, as well as recovered arms, ammunition, and illicit drugs.Ā
It disclosed that within the week, a total of 34 suspects were arrested, out of which 7 suspected kidnappers, 4 suspected gunrunners, 3 in connection with attacks on villages, 3 cattle rustlers, and 2 suspects arrested for illicit drug peddling.Ā
The statement further added that 3 victims were rescued from kidnappers, 4 attacks on vulnerable communities were deterred, and 36 distress calls were promptly responded to.
The Commander of Operation Safe Haven, Major General AE Abubakar, appreciated the incredible contributions of the citizenry in Plateau, Southern Kaduna, and Bauchi States for their great cooperation over time to rid the entire area of criminal elements.Ā
He stated that all arrested suspects in custody would be charged to court once investigations are concluded and implored members of the public to always report any suspicious moves in and around their localities to the men of the command.
