To say that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has brought a whole difference to governance in the manner he has been providing exceptional leadership for the state is to say the obvious. Within a short time in office as governor, he has done unforgettable contributions to the advancement of the state. His commitment to helping humanity and how he has, at different times, impacted the lives of the citizens is comendable.
From the provision of infrastructure to his care for the work force, the governor has been touching lives and giving meaning to the purpose of governance. His recent intervention is in the area of public transportation.
The state government, in conjunction with Max Okada, launched Sunshine Safe Bike to make commuting stress-free. No doubt, the motorcycle-taxi operators have proved to be responsible over the years for upholding safety and providing accessible and affordable motorcycle services to commuters.
And to ensure there is safety indeed, Akeredolu offered the Gani Fawehinmi Arcade free of charge for the purpose of training bike riders on safety and is currently working with the state’s Innovation Hub so as to be intimated on growing developer ecosystem.
Noble and worthy as this intervention is, the people of the state would do well to rally round it to make it thrive. This initiative, given the right encouragement, is expected to create job opportunities for the teeming youths as well as make transportation convenient for Ondo State citizenry. It is expected to give volume to the good intents of the governor for the Sunshine state.
