GOVERNOR of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, has paid a condolence visit to families of slain youths in Sapele.
JEFFERY Otevane, 25 and Michael Chubiuke, 30, were shot dead by alleged faceless gunmen at about 10:00 a.m during the last Presidential and National Assembly election in Okirighrwe, Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State.
The yet-to-be-identified assailants, it will be recalled, reportedly swooped on a polling Unit in Amukpe – Sapele, opening fire on the defenceless voters and killing the two young men in the process.
Senator Okowa, during his visit to Sapele to inaugurate projects on Wednesday, stopped over to condole with families of the slain men who were also members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“As we condole with the families, I urge Deltans to remain peaceful as we approach the Governorship and State Assembly elections.
“Avoid people who want you to arm yourself and go about killing your brothers.

“Always remember that in Delta State, we are all one big family. May the souls of the deceased rest in peace!” He noted.
Members of the two bereaved families had, last week Monday, called on the Inspector General of Police and other law enforcement agencies in the State to unravel the faces behind the daylight murder.
It could not be ascertained as of press time if the Delta Police Command has not apprehended anyone in relation to the murder, said to have been politically motivated.
