Ojuko made the disclosure during the 2017 budget assessment visit by the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, on Tuesday.
He also noted that work would soon commence on the 57 rural roads earlier announced by the state government.
The commissioner, who stated that the ministry had been able to provide office stucture to the LCDAs for theîr smooth operations, commended community leaders at Ifesowopo in Odogbolu who donated structure for their LCDA.
Ojuko, in a release by the Press Officer, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Seun Boye, also used the ocassion to appeal to the Federal Government to take over the payment of primary school teachers’ salaries in the state with a view to relieving the financial burden of the LCDAs which is being currently paid by the state government.
He decried the reduction of local government allocation from the Federal Government.
He disclosed that the Senator Ibikunle Amosun-led administration had been augmenting the local councils expenditure with about N600 million on monthly basis.
In their response, the committee members led by Honourable Olusoga Sonuga commended the ministry for quality service delivery, while advising on the need for more human capacity development for members of staff and political office-holders in the local government areas and LCDAs for effective service delivery.
They further commended the ministry for maintaining peace and adequate security in the various communities, socioeconomic development through the coordinating activities and effective monitoring of local government areas and LCDAs.
The committee members also visited Abeokuta South-East LCDA, Abeokuta South Local Government Area, and Abeokuta South-West LCDA, where chairmen were advised on improved revenue generation so as to provide more capital projects in all their council areas.
