Senator representing Abia South and Senate Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has joined the league of eminent Nigerians to commiserate with the family of Yinka Odumakin, the late spokesman of the Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere.
The lawmaker in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday described the death of Yinka Odumakin as shocking.
The statement signed by Senator Abaribe media aide, Uchenna Awom, said “the shocking death of the foremost right activist and advocate of a restructured Nigeria, has depleted the colony of courageous Nigerians who speak truth to power not minding dangers to their personal safety.
“Odumakin’s death as painful as it is, he added, came at a time his courage and witty mind is highly needed in the country that is fast cascading to a very uncertain destination.
“I’m pained over Yinka’s death. This death has left a sour taste in our mouth. Nigeria is on the brink and people like Yinka Odumakin have been working tirelessly to bring her back from such an unfortunate state. He will be sorely missed.”
