Northern Governors Forum has condemned the recent spate of killings of innocent people particularly in Plateau State by yet to be identified marauders who are going about taking lives of innocent citizens.
The condemnation was made by the Governors Forum represented by the Governors of Bauchi, Jigawa and Kebbi States, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, Badaru Abubakar and Atiku Bagudu respectively during a condolence visit to Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong on Saturday at the Government House in Jos.
The governors particularly described as unfortunate, the recent killings of some innocent people in Plateau State, declaring that the action was barbaric and should be condemned by all.
Kebbi State governor, Atiku Bagudu, who led his colleagues of Bauchi and Jigawa states said that the visit was to support the security measures so far taken by Governor Lalong to avert the recurrence of such incident in the state.

According to him, Governor Lalong being the chairman of the forum, members unanimously agreed to support him to ensure the maintenance of peace and security in the state.
Atiku Bagudu emphasized the need for mutual understanding among all the citizens of Plateau State regardless of their differences to ensure the development of the state.
While responding, Governor Lalong expressed gratitude to the three governors for the visit, describing it as a morale booster for him as it is a demonstration of one Nigeria and one people.
The governor according to a statement by Muktar Gidado, SSA Media and Publicity to Bauchi State governor, reassured the people of Plateau State of the readiness and resolve of his administration to protect their lives and properties calling on them for cooperation with his administration in fighting insurgency.
