The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, has expressed heartfelt condolences to the former Secretary to the Niger State Government (SSG) and Pro-Chancellor of Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna, Prof. Mohammed Kuta Yahaya, on the passing of his mother, Hajiya Fatima Yawo Yahaya, who died at the age of 99 after a brief illness.
In a statement personally signed by Alhaji Abubakar Usman, he described the late Hajiya Fatima Yawo Yahaya as a virtuous woman who lived a life of devotion, kindness, and service to humanity, noting that the deceased’s legacy of wisdom, compassion, and strong family values will continue to inspire those who knew her.
The SSG stressed that the loss of a mother is one of life’s deepest sorrows, highlighting that “we share in Prof. Kuta Yahaya’s grief during this difficult moment”.

He noted that Hajiya Fatima lived a fulfilled life, leaving behind a remarkable legacy through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who have contributed immensely to the development of Niger State and Nigeria at large.
The SSG prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings, grant her eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus, and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
He also urged the family to take solace in the fact that their matriarch lived to a ripe old age, impacting lives positively and leaving behind a lasting footprint.
The statement added that the Niger State Government stands in solidarity with Prof. Mohammed Kuta Yahaya and the entire Yahaya family during this period of mourning.
