Following the Ministerial nomination of Stella Okotete by President Bola Tinubu, the Northern Youth Initiative for Peace and Good Governance has hailed the development.
The group said that the eventual appointment of Okotete as Minister would boost the courage of Nigerian youth, inspiring them to aspire to greater heights.
Addressing journalists during a solidarity rally for Okotete, the President of the Group, Alhaji Umar Farouk Lawal, said Okotete would bring her experience from NEXIM bank to develop the country.
“Today we are here in support of our esteemed woman, a woman of substance and calibre, who has accomplished so much in NEXIM bank. She is a woman who believes in elevating Nigeria to greater heights, fostering capacity building.
“We are here today to support her because she has excelled, and that’s why President Tinubu nominated her for the Ministerial appointment. However, some individuals who don’t wish well for the progress of Nigerian youth are criticising her.
“Today, the northern youth and youth across the country are here to show solidarity and believe that Mr President will find a more significant role for her, allowing Nigerian youth to have greater space in this country.
“We believe in her leadership capacity, and that’s why we are here to support her. Nobody sponsored us; we are here on our own accord to show our support,” he said.
