Chief of Staff to the Governor of Oyo State, Chief Segun Ogunwuyi, has commended the smooth conduct of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) local government congresses in Ogbomoso Zone and across the state on Monday.
Ogunwuyi, who took part in the exercise in his local government area of Ogbomoso South, also commended the party faithful for their maturity and patience in electing their grassroots leaders in a friendly atmosphere.
He said: “PDP is one family, and in PDP we believe that we have only one leader in the state in the person of Governor Seyi Makinde. It is more like a consensus today and the entire PDP leadership in Ogbomoso is behind them. We believe with these, we would have a better and more stable party.
“The successful conduct of today’s local government congresses signifies another march towards ensuring Engr Seyi Makinde returns back in 2023 so that Oyo State people can continue to enjoy responsible governance.”
In his own remarks, Chairman Ogbomoso South Local Government, Hon Oyedokun Timothy, appealed to the new exco members to come together and build a more united front.
He said: “As you can see, the turnout here is impressive. Party faithful have conducted themselves in a manner devoid of rancour. We are the party to beat; PDP In Ogbomoso South will continue to be inclusive and welcomes new members from the other parties.
“I want to sincerely thank members and leaders of our party for their patience and discipline, as well as adherence to the party guidelines for the conduct of today’s local congress. And to this end, I will like to appreciate our security agencies present, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) among others.”
Among leaders present at the Local Government congress includes, Hon Segun Ogunwuyi, Prince Felix Akande, Hon Taiwo Abel Alagbe, Hon Taiwo Akano among others.
Meanwhile, the news excos are Apostle Moses Olamoyegun – party chairman, Mr Tiamiyu Jimoh – vice-chairman, Mr Bosun Abolade – secretary, Mr Falade Isaac – assistant secretary, Mr Fatai Usman – treasurer, Mr Yinusa Oladipupo – auditor, Mrs Toyin Olaniran – woman leader and Mrs Okewole Esther – organizing secretary.
Also, Taiwo Titus Ogunmola emerged as the youth leader, Mr Gbite Adebayo – financial secretary, Mr Femi Adeniyi -publicity secretary, Mrs Ogunsina Rebbeca – assistant publicity secretary, Oyekunle Moses – legal adviser, Ayanguna Tunde – ex officio 1, Oyelade Olasunkanmi – ex officio 2, Hon Ojo Emmanuel – ex officio 3, Adisa Zechariah Oluwole – ex officio 4 and Adeoye Sunday – ex officio 5 while Prince Felix Akande emerged as the council delegate.
