Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has paid a condolence visit to the President of Sword of the Spirit Ministries and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Francis Wale Oke, following the passing of his mother, late Mrs Elizabeth Areola Oke.
Speaking at Bishop Oke’s home in Ibadan, Governor Makinde expressed his sympathy to the cleric and the entire Oke family. He expressed gratitude that Mama lived a good and fulfilling life worthy of admiration before reuniting with her maker.
He described the deceased as a blessed woman whose womb was privileged to bring forth great children, whose lives have positively impacted humanity, both within Nigeria and globally.
The governor encouraged the bishop and the family to find solace and give thanks to God for allowing Mama to live to the age of 97.
Makinde also took the opportunity to reassure the bishop and the people of Oyo State of his unwavering commitment to their welfare and development.
He mentioned that he and his team have been diligently working to establish a solid foundation for Oyo State’s economic development and viability shortly.
In response, Bishop Oke, on behalf of the family, expressed gratitude to the governor for taking time out of his busy schedule to offer condolences on the loss of the matriarch of the Oke family.
He pledged continuous support and earnest prayers for the governor’s success and for the emergence of a credible and God-fearing successor who will lead the state to greater heights.
