Acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ibrahim Magu will next Tuesday deliver this year’s 20th Anniversary public lecture of the Finance Correspondents Association of Nigeria (FICAN) Abuja.
Magu will speak on the topic. “Corruption and National Development: Issues, Challenges and Solutions”.
Paper discussant is the Executive chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Mr Babatunde Fowler.
A release issued in Abuja by FICAN chairman, Mr. Simeon Ogoegbulem stated that the event billed to take place at the Top Rank Hotel Galaxy Utako, Abuja will be presided over by the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Godwin Emefiele who will also deliver the keynote address at the epoch making ceremony.
Established 20 years ago, FICAN is the umbrella body of journalists covering banking, finance and economy in Nigeria with members in print, electronic and social media organizations.
The public lecture is part of activities to mark its 20th anniversary which will also be used to recognize and honour individual and corporate organizations that have positively impacted on the economic growth and development of Nigeria in the last ten years. Among the award recipients, are the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFUND, National Pension Commission, Securities and Exchange Commission, United Bank for Africa, UBA, National Insurance Commission, Central Bank of Nigeria, National Bureau of Statistics, Jaiz Takaful insurance Plc, Bureau of Public Enterprises, BPE, the Abuja Enterprise Agency, Heritage bank, Aso Savings and Loans Plc, Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and fiscal commission, National Salaries, incomes and wages commission, federal inland revenue service, FIRS amongst others.
