Some Nigerians on social media have accused foreign airlines of intentionally slashing their Nigeria-London route flight tickets to frustrate Air Peace and drive them out of business.
Tribune Online reports that Airpeace, a Nigerian carrier, commenced direct flights to London Gatwick on March 30, 2024.
Following the commencement of Air Peace’s direct Lagos to London flights at a cheaper and more affordable rate, foreign airlines have started to announce reductions in the prices of their Nigeria to London flights.
Reacting to the reduction in prices of foreign airlines, netizens described it as an attempt aimed at frustrating Air Peace out of business.
Social media users opined that the reduction in ticket prices by foreign airlines is targeted at removing Air Peace from the business and subsequently tripling the price of flight tickets.
However, they urged Nigerians to continue to patronise and support Air Peace, adding that failure to do so would be detrimental to ordinary Nigerians travelling to London.

“Once Air Peace cannot compete anymore on that Lagos-London route then, British Airways, Air France, KLM and Lufthansa will jack up their prices. Then, we all lose. Think about it carefully.” @OgbeniDipo opined.

Once they remove him from the line, they will triple the price back.”
