AS part of its efforts to unlock agricultural prosperity and boost economic contribution of the sector through the Eko Agro Mechanization Scheme, Tractor-On-the-Go (TOG), a subsidiary of Origin Tech Group, has partnered with the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture to facilitate access to farm machinery through its platform.
It is expected that a large turnout of farmers and agricultural value chain members in Lagos State will attend the formal launch of the Lagos State Eko Agro Mechanization Scheme on February 14th at the Lagos State Agricultural Training Institute, Araga, Epe, Lagos to mark the start of the farming season in 2023.
The scheme is in line with the state government’s commitment to assisting farmers and encouraging small and medium-scale agro-processors, as well as creating an enabling environment for private sector participation in the agricultural sector.
From plowing the land to harvesting it, TOG gives farmers access to cutting-edge machinery for a more productive and practical farming experience.
However, in order to train operators and equipment handlers in agricultural mechanisation and tractor operations and to increase awareness of the advantages and convenience of using mechanisation through technology, TOG has also started training and capacity building programmes.
With the help of a grant from USAID, TOG recently launched a skills acquisition programme in key Nigerian states for individuals in the agricultural sector.
