The Vice Chancellor of Kogi State University Kabba, Professor Kehinde Eniola, has disclosed that the university will be matriculating its first set of 1,200 students on Tuesday.
The VC, who declared this on Monday during the maiden matriculation press conference at the university campus in Kabba, said that more candidates are still applying for various courses at the institution, but that they have their target.
The Vice Chancellor of the newly established Kogi State University said that he is working very hard with his management team to make the ivory tower the best in academic excellence in Nigeria and beyond.
He said that the institution is determined from the beginning to raise students who will be nationally and globally recognised in their various fields of study.
According to the VC, the management is working with some partners to provide affordable accommodation for the students, assuring that their security on campus is of utmost concern to the university authority.
He commended Governor Yahaya Bello for putting every requirement in place to ensure the smooth takeoff of the institution.
The VC added that 25 academic programmes have been approved by the National University Commission (NUC), adding that the IJMB will commence immediately to create apportionment for those who do not meet the entry requirements of the university.
He advised the students to take their studies seriously, as the university intends to be different in its approach to both academic and student discipline on campus.
