A former member of Kogi State House of Assembly, Friday Makama Sanni and six others kidnapped a few days ago in a hotel in Abuja have regained their freedom after paying N15 million and N100,000 naira recharge cards to the kidnappers.
Tribune Online reliably gathered that the sum of N15 million naira and N100,000 recharge cards were paid to the kidnappers.
The gunmen who kidnapped the ex-lawmaker and six others had earlier demanded the sum of N20 million.
Family sources said they were released at a location in Niger State on Saturday.
Recall that a hotel manager who called family members related to Makama, Prince Frederick Adejoh (Oma Onu Aya), and others, alerted of the kidnap of the victims.
The armed gunmen were said to have stormed a village called Tunga Maje near Zuba in Abuja and kidnapped Prince Frederick Adejoh (Oma Onu Aya), and six others from Hilltop Hotel.
The armed men shot sporadically into the air to scare away the security men on guard and kidnapped the hotel guests. Among the victims was the owner of the hotel who is also a prince of Igala land.
Tunga Maje along Kaduna-Abuja highway has long been an area notorious for kidnapping.
