A kidnapped medical doctor in Delta State, Dr Wisdom Iboyitete has regained his freedom on Sunday morning.
The State Secretary of the National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (NAGGMDP), Dr Ikechukwu Okoh, confirmed the release of his colleague yesterday.
Dr Iboyitete spent one week in the custody of his captors having been abducted from his office at about 12 .30 am last week Monday at the premises of Delta State General Hospital in the creek town of Ojobo, Burutu Local Government Area.
One of the kidnappers had feigned sickness with others assisting him to run a test before they pulled out their guns and bailed up the doctor, nurse and laboratory technician.

At the expiration of the notice, the entire doctors in the state went on Indefinite Strike on Thursday last week saying they will not go back to work until their colleague was released.
However, Dr Okoh could not give further details about the rescue of Dr Iboyitete as at the time of filing this report and it was not clear whether any ransom was paid.
