FORMER Ogun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Sina Kawonise, has declared his intention to run for the governorship seat in the state in the 2019 general elections.
Kawonise promised during the declaration to administered the State by running people-oriented programmes under the banner of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The Ago-Iwoye born said the people of the state would be his primary focus in terms of their needs by creating Development Council at the Ward levels.
He said, “I will create a ward development council in order for development to spread simultaneously across the state. It will also to boost the state’s economy.
“The present administration thinks it is their responsibility to think for the people and this isn’t right, you can’t sit in your office and think you know what the people at the local and ward level need.

“This will change as I will use the ward development council to inquire from the people what they want and will give them the chance to execute the projects, thereby earning income through honest means.”
On the choice of the party, Kawonise described SDP as a party which believed in the thorough democratic process by conducting “direct primaries” in picking eligible candidates for different elective positions.
He is the first governorship aspirant of the party to declare his interest for the number one position.
