Veteran actress and movie producer, Kate Henshaw talked about how the industry has grown from the early stages to the new age Nollywood; how distribution and piracy is still a major problem; how social media is a very effective tool for marketing in this new age and era, and how good content is what will keep impacting the society. She also spoke on new opportunities available in the Nigerian movie industry.
Movie Producer, Jade Osiberu, who recently produced Isoken: The Movie, spoke on her effective marketing strategies for her latest project, using social media and the internet by extension. She highlighted the benefits of investing in the film industry, noting that investment was still a major challenge. She also gave some key points on why some movies were more profitable to make than others.
Movie producer and actress, Juliet Ibrahim spoke on the challenges of distribution and its consequences on profit, noting that foreign movies were given priority in Nigeria and therefore, limited the growth of the Nigerian movie industry.
Actor Deyemi Okanlawon suggested that the focus should be on movies that positively affect the Nigerian society, stating that there should be better marketing structures, business models and ventures for the Nigerian movie industry.
