The Managing Director of the state Water board, Engineer Zayyanu Rabi`u disclosed this while speaking to newsmen in Dutse the state capital, he said that the projects include provision of new water schemes and replacement of dilapidated water facilities.
Engineer Zayyanu Rabi’u explained that the project is aim at providing potable drinking water in the state capital Dutse and it’s environed to be in accordance with the future expansion of the city.
According to him “very soon the contract of the project would be a sign and the work would be started the government would ensure completion of the project on agreed quality.
He stated further that the state government spent over N1.7 billion on the execution of various water projects across the state.
Rabi`u maintained that out of the amount 108 million was spent on the purchase of water generating sets and over 73 million naira was used on conversion of 14 motorized water schemes to solar powered.
He said the government has also spent 389 million naira on rehabilitation work under phase one, 19 million naira under phase two, while one billion one hundred and fifty-eight million naira was expanded on upgrading of Kazaure, Gumel, Ringim, Dutse, Garki and Babura waters schemes.
The Managing Director stated that the government is looking into the possibility of executing Hadejia great water project soon.
