In line with the recently launched initiative by the Junior Chamber International to sustain and rebuild economies, businesses and strengthen workforce morale as we recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic together, Junoir Chamber International-Ibadan Elite hosted the second edition of her business masterclass on Thursday 24th March, at Ibadan Business School.
The initiative-JCI RISE, stands for Rebuild, Invest, Sustain, Evolve. It calls upon enterprising young leaders across the world to work together to make economies and workforces more resilient.
Speaking with the host president, Engr. Goodness Morakinyo disclosed that the Elite Business MasterClass 2.0 was aimed at equipping participants with growth and marketing strategies for their products and businesses, handing them alternative side hustles that pay, exposing them to branding and brand strategies, and finally providing their businesses with platforms to access various business finance options.
Another highlight of the event was when a participant, Mr Charles Okoroji emerged the winner of the N200,000 business grant after a very competitive pitching process which was sponsored by Stone-Cafe in Ibadan.
Facilitators at the Masterclass included- JCI Senator ‘Jide Adeyemi who spoke on ‘Brand and Brand Strategies’, JCI Senator Kola Osinowo who spoke on ‘Growth Strategies for small businesses’ and Ayodeji Rasaq who spoke on ‘Side hustles that pay’.

The event which lasted for about eight hours, had its closing remarks from Mr Yinka Fasuyi who is the President of Ibadan Business School, a major partner for the event in addition to Wema Bank, Bank of Industry and Stone-Cafe, who also partnered with the organisers of the event.
Also in attendance was the National President of Junior Chamber International, Nigeria – JCIN Amb. Olawale Bakare, Director of Business for JCI Nigeria- JCIN Amb. Ruth Oriyomi, the charter president of JCI Ibadan Elite-JCI Senator Tolu Adeniyi, JCI Senator Temi- Alade Mustapha, the 2019 President of JCI Ibadan Elite- JCIN Amb. Sanmi Abiodun and the 2020 President of JCI Ibadan Elite- JCIN Amb. Kemi Irinoye.
The event was wrapped up with the presentation of certificates to all participants signed by both Presidents of Junior Chamber International- Ibadan Elite and Ibadan Business School.
It was a Masterclass that got its participants inspired and engaged after which one can only expect them to thrive in their various businesses.
