A group with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under the aegis of Lagos Patriotic PDP Forum, has reacted to the exit of the party’s governorship candidate in the 2023 poll in the state, Dr. AbdulAzeez Adediran aka JANDOR, saying that it received the news with utmost joy, even as it described his departure as good riddance to bad rubbish.
The group stated its leader, Dr. Amos Fawole, who also serves as the Legal Adviser for the South-West PDP Zone and leads the Lagos PDP Patriotic Forum. In the statement, they expressed that JANDOR is the most unsuitable candidate for the party’s governorship position.
They declared that he is “not qualified by any standard to be our governorship candidate, as the facts have revealed,” this statement was made available to the press.
The forum noted that the former PDP governorship candidate had no political value to win any election, saying that it was utterly shocking to hear from someone like him, calling anybody to question on the issue of disloyalty to the party.
The group said it was utterly disgusting to hear JANDOR accusing anybody of been disloyal when in reality, he was one “who only succeeded in coercing the PDP with lies, to hijack the party’s ticket for his ulterior motive.”
“It was obvious from day one that his focus was to hijack the party for his personal material gains, insinuating all manner of rubbish against our leaders, who called him to order when it became obvious that his professed popularity has failed the integrity test.
“It became obvious immediately after he secured the PDP’s governorship ticket that he was at war with his foot soldiers of the Lagos4Lagos led by one Ajayi, who immediately abandoned him, to return back to the APC, less than one month of their arrival in the PDP.
“This was as result of disagreement over his overbearing influence and sharing of positions as well as the booty from campaign funds,” the Forum stated.
“His accusation of this party leadership only goes to show his filipancy, in fact his lack of popularity and the momentum was so glaring that he was advised by the PDP national to collapse political structure into that of Labour party, which he discountenanced.
“Of course everybody saw the result, he only got 62,000 votes, the worst in the history of the PDP since inception in 1999.
“Our party would have emerged the winner with Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour as the candidates, of course he was the reason, Gbadebo left the PDP for the Labour.
“We can not join issue with him on the mentioning the name of PDP leader in Lagos, Chief Olabode George, why should we descend so low, it is sacrilegious, it is an abomination?
“He has realised he has hit the end of his political profligacy, that never again would he secure the party’s candidacy, hence his flimsy excuses of putting his failure on the party.
“JANDOR, the political misfit should move, and never again cross the PDP’s path, not even in our dreams,” it added.
