Members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Ibadan Depot in the South-West part of Nigeria, on Tuesday held a special prayer and appreciation session at the grand mosque in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, for the outgoing administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, the success of the incoming government of President-elect, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and that of the reelected governor of Oyo State, Mr Seyi Makinde.
Speaking with the Nigerian Tribune by phone from Makkah, Saudi Arabia, where he led other members of the association to perform this year’s Ramadan Umrah pilgrimage, Chairman, IPMAN, Ibadan Depot which covers Oyo, Osun States and environs, Alhaji Bukola Mutiu, noted that the association feels it is important to appreciate God for the numerous successes recorded during the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in the last eight years and to also pray for the success of the incoming administration under the leadership of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He said:”We held a special prayer and appreciation session for President Muhammadu Buhari, the President-elect, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu as well as the reelected governor of Oyo State, Mr Seyi Makinde and we strongly believe that the Almighty Allah has listened to us and we are optimistic that he will grant all our request concerning them.
“We equally prayed for the Nigerian petroleum sector which has been witnessing turbulence for quite sometime now. We also prayed for the resuscitation of the moribund Ibadan depot and other depots particularly in the South-West. If these depots are back and running, the issue of fuel scarcity will become history.”
While congratulating the governor of Oyo State on his reelection, Mutiu, called on the governor to allow for interface between him and IPMAN so that there will be room for meaningful discussion as regards development in the State and the South-West part of Nigeria as a whole.
