Imo State new Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde deployed to the state by the Inspector General of Police IG Usman Alkali has officially assumed duty.
The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Michael Abatham disclosed this in a statement issued in Owerri Thursday.
He said the Commissioner of Police who hails from Niger State, is a seasoned police officer and was enlisted into the Force in arch 1990, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.
According to him, he holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.Sc) in Political Science from the prestigious Usman Danfodio University and a Masters Degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution.
The Police Spokesman said the New Commissioner is a passionate, versatile and experienced Police Officer, who has served the Force meritoriously in various capacities and in different Commands and Formations.
The PPRO said that Barde served as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration in Nigeria Police Academy Wudil, Kano State and Police College Jos, Plateau State respectively.
He was also according to him the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Borno State Command.
He said that CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde was the Commissioner of Police, Force Criminal Intelligence Investigation Department (FCIID) Annex, Enugu adding that until his recent posting to Imo State Police Command, he was the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command.
The Command’s spokesman said that his dint of hard work and professionalism in the job has earned him many accolades. He is happily married and blessed with children.
