The first session of the ninth synod of the diocese of the Ibadan North Anglican Communion will continue to linger in the minds of the former Bishop of Ibadan North and Archbishop of Ibadan Province, Most Reverend Segun Okubadejo, as the leadership of the church and members converged to celebrate him for his service to God and mankind.
The bishop of the diocese, Right Reverend Williams Aladekugbe, formally presented the documents and key of a Sports Utility Vehicle to Okubadejo at the thanksgiving service of the synod held recently.
According to Aladekugbe, the gift was part of an appreciation to honour the retired archbishop..
He added that the church was grateful for the services rendered by Okubadejo, especially on his commitment towards the growth of the church.
The event was also graced by Archbishop of Ibadan Province and Bishop of Osun North Anglican Diocese, Most Reverend Taiwo Olaoye; Bishop of Ijebu South-West, Right Reverend Babatunde Ogunbanwo, Bishop of Ilesa South-West, Right Reverend Samuel Egbebunmi, among others.
In his remarks, Okubadejo expressed his delight at the gesture and prayed that God will reward the church and every hand that was part of the gift.
