An education expert with over ten years of experience, Odeyale Ayobami Oluwamayomikun, has described innovative strategies leveraging technology as a significant way for enhanced teacher productivity globally.
Ayobami, who spoke on how her groundbreaking work in education transformed how schools and organizations approach learning, training, and team building, explained that integrating technology to our learning process is expedient to make it more effective and inclusive.
According to her, over six years with the Student Development Academy, her innovative strategies significantly enhanced teacher productivity, especially during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. She added the efforts earned her recognition while reshaping educational practices.
Student Development Academy awarded Ayobami, particularly for equipping teachers with active learning strategies during the early post-COVID era when both teaching and learning had to take different strategies as learners were coming back fully to classrooms after a long term of learning virtually from home. Ayobami succeeded in running the MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE PROGRAM for the Teachers to help them understand better mainstream students and students with Special Needs and Disabilities (SEND), SEND Teachers/Students.
From academic research and passion to bridge learning gaps in mainstream and special education, Ayobami discovered the theory of multiple intelligences, developed by developmental psychologist Howard Gardner,it proposes that people have a variety of different types of intelligence.
This multiple intelligence program organised by Ayobami in Student Development Academy, focused on adopting teaching materials in a variety of ways, such as through words, pictures, music, or physical experiences. This helped their students with learning disabilities or who don’t excel in traditional areas of intelligence to be immensely active in academic and extracurricular activities.
Continuing, Ayobami recalled how the pandemic forced a global shift to remote learning, saying this pushed her to lead the development of a program that went beyond simply integrating technology.
Moreso, Ayobami was able to take further the multiple intelligence program to youth seminars in religious institutions and employers of labour.
By bridging the gap between education and the workplace, youth and talent maximisation, Ayobami expressed satisfaction for setting a new standard for how we approach teaching, learning, and talent maximization in the workplace and among youths. According to her, forward-thinking solutions address today’s challenges while laying the foundation for a more inclusive and adaptable future.
With technology in place, Ayobami said she focused on creative ways to make online education accessible and engaging for all students. “Central to my approach was the use of multi-sensory learning, enabling teachers to present content through words, images, music, and physical experiences. This flexibility proved invaluable for students with learning disabilities or those who struggled with traditional learning methods,” she explained.
She further added the impact of the program on the Student Development Academy was profound, saying teachers became more effective in delivering remote lessons, resulting in an 88% increase in productivity and a boost in profitability. More importantly, her methods ensured sustained student engagement and retention during a period of uncertainty, highlighting the program’s value to both educators and learners.
She therefore promised to ensure her work continues to inspire change, helping individuals and organizations thrive in dynamic environments.
